LUXWT Review

Situated on the Potomac River, The Mandarin Oriental, D.C. has a classic luxury feel, amazing amenities and views. We arrived and were instantly greeted by the bellhop as he offered to take our bags and introduce us to the front desk. Check-in was quick and seamless, and I could tell the staff were next level.

Our room was on the eighth floor, which is also the club level. All club level rooms have access to breakfast daily, snacks throughout the day, and appetizers and drinks every evening. I thought this was an exceptional service for those who like the convenience and ultimate hotel stay. We arrived in our room and its luxurious aspects were seen throughout. Beautiful marble bathroom equipped with a huge tub and shower. Plush bathrobes and slippers available for guests to use. The room had a massive Samsung TV, and all of the smart capabilities for extra convenience, such as touch screens for all lights, a handheld phone, and outlets located right next to each bed. The cherry on top of this room was the incredible view. The wide windows went from ceiling to floor with views of the river and plane take offs from the airport nearby. Overall, the rooms at this hotel are ultra luxurious, and make for an incredible and comfortable experience as a home away from home.

We were able to get a tour of the property and it is a very large hotel, but it has comfortable feel where the amenities are placed in just the right position for guests to use at convenience. There is an onsite pool with just the right temperature, perfect for families or couples to enjoy after a long day of sightseeing. Each weekend, the hotel offers a high tea in the Empress Lounge and garden area, where guests can experience complimentary coffee, tea and assorted pastries, an excellent touch!

Overall, the Mandarin Oriental is a great choice for anyone looking to be close to D.C. attractions, have luxury amenities, and wanting to explore the booming restaurant scene in the city. A great feature of this hotel is the complimentary Mercedes they allow guests to utilize each day. You can ask to be taken anywhere within a two mile radius of the hotel. This is another example of the luxury amenities provided at this hotel, especially for guests who want to see the city or get to restaurants without having to walk or pay for transport. Another addition is the complimentary car they offer to the Wharf District, D.C.’s hot new riverfront restaurant and shopping scene. Just a 5 minute drive from the hotel, you can be taken there to experience rooftop dining, river walk views, boat rides, and entertainment. It is truly a must visit.

We want to thank the Mandarin for an unforgettable stay, we will be back!
